She Speaks Up!

Community Interest Company based in E17

We exist to work in partnership with artists, local community groups, workshops, bookshops, anyone with a creative bone in their body to help facilitate pop up art exhibitions and workshops that serve the community. We hope to help everyone, but particularly women, to find ways to tell stories that might not have had a chance to be told. We want to provide platforms for these important experiences to be heard. We’d love to hear from you if you’d like to know more.

I’m Sharon! I’m an artist and writer and lecturer. You can see my work on my website but a brief bio is that I’m originally from Northern Ireland but lived in London for over 10 years and loving E17. I’m just finishing up my PhD at the Royal College of Art which is all about how the term hysteria might be useful in engaging discussion and understanding around female experience today. I use photography, writing, image-text, letter press, screen prints, installations and anything else I can get my hands on in a multi-disciplinary approach to my art practice.

Me with my work at Southwark Park Galleries at an exhibition called Unruly Encounters.
